Shoulder Pain Physical Therapy in Cheshire, CT

Stop letting shoulder pain keep you from the gym, the field, or even reaching overhead. Our Performance Rehab approach finds the root cause—not just the symptoms—so you can get back to what you love, stronger than before.

Your Shoulder Pain Is Holding You Back From Everything

You're Stuck on the Sidelines

The workout programming you love is off-limits. CrossFit WODs with overhead movements? Forget it. Baseball season? Watching from the bench. Your entire routine has been disrupted by pain you can't seem to shake.

Generic Advice Isn't Cutting It

"Take it easy." "Avoid overhead movements." "Give it more time." But you're an athlete—taking it easy isn't in your DNA. You need answers about what's actually causing the pain and how to fix it for good.

You're Afraid It's Only Getting Worse

What starts as a minor ache during warmups becomes constant discomfort. Now you're wondering if you'll ever be able to train the way you used to, or if this is just your new normal.

"I own a catering and events company, and rely on my body to stay strong, healthy, and functional as I'm on my feet most days, and some days for very long hours! Marc has been expertly guiding me through a few small injuries. In a few short months, we've been able to get me back to not only feeling healthy and strong enough to work out and feel good on a day to day basis as an active person and mom, but to be confident that I can work long days at events, and continue to do so for many years to come.

He is so knowledgeable, and instilled so much confidence in not only his skill and expertise, but in MY ability to actively participate in the healing process.

I was introduced to Marc by Tuff Girl Fitness, and I could not be happier. This is not like any other physical therapy experience I've had before, in the best way possible. I feel listened to, focused on, and the quality of unique, individualized care is unmatched."

"Marc is amazing!! His PT is like nothing I've ever experienced before. I have a bad ankle and bad lower back. Ive had multiple steroid shots and a ton of basic physical therapy appointments where your in a room with 25 other people doing exercises on your own and leave. Both of these experiences have not been positive for me. Truthfully, Marc is the only thing that has really worked for me. His dry needling is amazing!! I am back doing everything I did before my injuries. It's like magic. You get one on one attention for an hour and whatever isn't feeling good, Marc can fix! Marc is really knowledgable and super professional. It's expensive but worth every penny and more! I cant recommended Marc enough!"

"I've been working with Marc for a little over a year now, and I can honestly say his skill in the field is unmatched. As a college baseball player, I came to him with a flexor tendon issue in my elbow that eventually required surgery. Marc guided me through every step of the process, and his knowledge and approach to rehab helped me recover faster than I ever thought possible.

What sets Marc apart is his ability to create personalized plans that actually work. He designed custom lifting and mobility programs tailored to my specific needs, not only helping me recover but also putting me in a better position than I was before surgery. His expertise in physical therapy and movement is truly on another level.

I've worked with multiple physical therapists in the past, but Marc's the only PT I'll stick with for the rest of my career. He genuinely finds joy in seeing his patients improve and goes above and beyond to help them succeed. I can't recommend him enough!"

Frequently Asked Questions About Shoulder Pain Physical Therapy in Cheshire

Everything you need to know about shoulder pain treatment at ProMotion Physical Therapy.

How is Performance Rehab different from traditional physical therapy?

Traditional PT often focuses on symptom management and telling you to avoid painful activities. Our Performance Rehab approach identifies the ROOT cause of your shoulder pain—whether it's a mobility restriction, strength imbalance, or movement pattern dysfunction—and systematically addresses it. We don't just want you pain-free doing daily activities; we want you back to overhead pressing, throwing, swimming, or whatever athletic demands you place on your shoulder.

Do I need a referral to start treatment?

Connecticut is a direct access state, which means you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral. We offer a free phone consultation with Marc to discuss your shoulder pain and determine if Performance Rehab is right for you.

How long will it take to fix my shoulder pain?

Every shoulder is different, and honest timelines depend on factors like injury severity, how long you've had pain, and your training goals. During your initial assessment, we'll give you a realistic timeline based on your specific situation. Most athletes start seeing significant improvements within 2-4 weeks, with full resolution taking 6-12 weeks depending on the condition.

Can you help me if I've already tried physical therapy before?

Absolutely. Many of our clients come to us after traditional PT didn't get them back to their athletic pursuits. If previous therapy focused only on pain relief without addressing the underlying movement dysfunctions or didn't progress you back to sport-specific demands, Performance Rehab takes a different approach. We're here to get you back to what you love—not just "better" but fully capable.

Will I have to stop training completely?

Not necessarily. One of the core principles of Performance Rehab is intelligent load management—we modify your training to allow healing while maintaining fitness wherever possible. Complete rest often isn't the answer; strategic training modifications usually are. We'll work with you to find what you can do safely while we address what's causing your pain.

Still have questions?

We get it—shoulder pain is frustrating, and you want clear answers. Let's talk.
